Synchronicity SEO is the newest chapter of a story that started with a journalism degree, a sales job and, of all things, a pineapple.
A journalist in a collapsing industry
Kimberly Hogate earned a Broadcast Journalism degree from Columbia College Chicago just as the newspaper industry was falling apart. Reporting jobs were disappearing faster than graduates could apply for them, so she took administrative and sales roles instead, and turned out to be very good at them. She brought in significant revenue for her employer.
When she asked for a raise, with the numbers to back it up, her boss said no and handed her a pineapple from the farmers market. That was the moment she knew she would work for herself.
“Be like a pineapple: stand tall and wear a crown.”

From Faceted Media to Synchronicity
After co-founding a law firm with a colleague, Kimberly went out on her own and started Faceted Media in Denver in 2011. Over fifteen years the agency worked with 197 businesses on websites, Google Ads, local search and content, and a growing share of that work was the same problem: good businesses that nobody could find.
Search kept changing. Google Maps became the front door for local businesses, and AI answers started sitting above the ten blue links. Synchronicity SEO is where Kimberly narrowed the work to that one job: getting established businesses found in Google, in Maps and in the AI answers that now decide who gets the call.

Slower is how it gets faster
Kimberly wrote a book about it: Business Therapy: The Anxious Entrepreneur’s Quick Guide to Success. Its argument is that the culture of immediacy works against good work, and that slowing down is how owners actually get ahead. The same thinking runs through Synchronicity. We look at the whole picture before touching anything, fix what matters in the right order, and tell you plainly when you need less from us, not more.
The journalism never left either. It is why the content we write reads like a person wrote it, and why press features and citations are part of how we build authority for clients.
The people behind it
Kimberly leads every engagement, with a small team of senior specialists she has worked with for years: project management, authority building and development.
